Crash Landing

Here’s the latest personal project I recently finished. Everything made by myself except the aircraft model which I purchased from Video Copilot. It took me about a month to create in spare time after work and on weekends. Rendered in realtime with UDK and as usual I used 3ds Max for all additional modeling, dynamic simulations and keyframe animation.

This is so nice man! I really want to be an FX TD! I really like the bending… Is it TP you sued for the RBD Sim?

I might do a breakdown sometime in the future. I currently don’t have the time to make a full on tutorial I’m afraid. If you’re interested in any particular aspect of the sequence, I’m happy to go more in depth on it.

Niall, I ended up doing a lot of hand animation for this one as I wanted to really tailor it to the camera (a lot of the time simulating stuff like that can be a bit too random). I hand keyed the bigest parts of the plane and used MassFX that comes with 3dsMax (from 2012 onwards I believe) for other rigid body dynamics.

Thanks for the kind words guys, glad you liked the video!
